The CF700 turbofan engine was developed as an aft-fan engine to power the Rockwell Sabre 75 version of the Sabreliner aircraft, as well as the Dassault Falcon. There are over 400 CF700 aircraft in operation around the world, with an experience base of over 10 million service hours.
The CF700 was the first small turbofan in the world to be certificated by the Federal Aviation Administration.
The CF700 turbofan engine was also used to train Moon-bound astronauts in the Apollo program as the powerplant for the Lunar Landing Training Vehicle.
